Restaurant Director and Operating Partner – Outlet Front of House LeadershipBorn in the coastal town of Scalea in Calabria, Italy, Giovanni Pugliese has built a distinguished career rooted in a lifelong passion for hospitality. His early experiences working in restaurants during summer breaks, followed by five years of service in the Italian Army, instilled both discipline and a deep appreciation for creating memorable guest experiences. Giovanni went on to join The Ritz-Carlton, honing his craft in renowned locations across Rome, the Amalfi Coast, the Italian Alps, and London.
In 2002, Giovanni moved to San Francisco, where he quickly became a leader in the city’s dining scene. After serving as General Manager with the LeClerc group, he began his long and impactful journey with MINA Group at Bourbon Steak in the Westin St. Francis. Rising from Captain to General Manager of the flagship location, Giovanni led the restaurant for more than a decade, building lasting guest loyalty and a reputation for excellence.
Now returning to MINA Group, Giovanni brings his signature energy, humor, and passion for hospitality to The Bungalow Kitchen, where he continues to inspire teams and delight guests. Outside of the restaurant, Giovanni is a dedicated husband and father who enjoys cooking, swimming, biking, and giving back to the community.
