About the Role
The Pastry Supervisor & Baker is a hands-on culinary professional responsible for leading the daily production of breads, pastries, desserts, and baked goods at Warfield Brewery. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will help develop and execute a pastry and baking program that complements the restaurant’s menus and reflects our commitment to quality, creativity, consistency, and craftsmanship.
You will oversee production planning, recipe execution, product quality, food safety, inventory management, cost control, and the training and development of culinary team members. This position is ideal for an experienced baker or pastry professional who is comfortable working independently, leading by example, and supporting the broader culinary operation when needed.

Our Ideal Candidate Is
A skilled and detail-oriented baker and pastry professional who is organized, dependable, and passionate about producing exceptional food. You have a strong understanding of artisan bread, pastry production, fermentation, proofing, recipe development, and high-volume kitchen operations.
You lead from the bench and enjoy teaching others while remaining actively involved in daily production. You understand how to balance creativity with consistency, cost control, food safety, and operational efficiency. You communicate clearly, stay composed under pressure, and take ownership of the quality and organization of your work area.
What You Bring to the Table
Minimum of two years of professional pastry or baking experience
Previous experience as a Pastry Lead, Pastry Supervisor, Baker, or similar culinary position preferred
Experience in a high-volume restaurant, bakery, hotel, brewery, or fine-dining environment
Culinary or baking and pastry degree preferred
Strong knowledge of artisan bread, dough mixing, fermentation, proofing, shaping, and baking
Experience maintaining sourdough starters, preferments, laminated doughs, and specialty baking preparations
Thorough knowledge of pastry production, including cakes, cookies, custards, creams, sauces, frozen desserts, and plated desserts
Ability to create and manage daily and weekly production schedules
Experience scaling recipes, calculating yields, managing portions, and maintaining consistent quality
Strong knowledge of inventory management, product rotation, ordering, receiving, and waste reduction
Ability to inspect products for proper flavor, texture, appearance, freshness, and presentation
Working knowledge of food cost, labor efficiency, and production controls
Experience training, coaching, and providing direction to culinary team members
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, allergen awareness, and workplace safety requirements
Experience operating commercial ovens, mixers, proofers, food processors, sheeters, slicers, and other bakery equipment
Strong communication, organization, time-management, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Executive Chef and culinary team
Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 30 pounds
Ability to obtain and maintain all required food-handler certifications and permits
What You’ll Do
Work with the Executive Chef to develop and execute breads, pastries, desserts, and baked goods that complement Warfield Brewery’s menus
Produce breads, rolls, laminated pastries, cakes, cookies, custards, creams, sauces, frozen desserts, and plated desserts
Manage mixing, fermentation, proofing, baking, cooling, finishing, storage, and service timelines
Create production schedules based on projected business levels, special events, menu needs, and available inventory
Supervise pastry and bakery production while remaining actively involved in preparation and service
Ensure all products meet established standards for flavor, texture, temperature, appearance, portion size, and presentation
Maintain approved recipes, yields, preparation methods, and production notes
Participate in menu development, recipe development, product costing, ordering, receiving, and inventory management
Monitor pars and production levels to minimize waste, spoilage, and overproduction
Ensure proper labeling, dating, rotation, storage, cooling, and handling of ingredients and finished products
Train and coach team members in baking techniques, pastry production, recipe execution, equipment use, sanitation, and organization
Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and properly stocked pastry and baking area
Coordinate production with savory kitchen operations and restaurant service schedules
Support special events, seasonal menus, and high-volume production
Assist other culinary stations when operational needs require
Ensure all equipment is properly used, cleaned, maintained, and reported for repair
Perform additional culinary and supervisory duties as assigned
