Yazmin Montes de Oca

Assistant General Manager – Outlet Front of House Leadership

In the summer of 2013, after graduating from high school, Yazmin started with MINA Group at RN74 San Francisco as a host, mentored by the infamous Nancy Zammit. Her hard work and passion for food & beverage led to the promotion of Food Runner. In June 2016, she decided that she wanted to sharpen her skill set and learn a more elevated style of service, thus joining the service team at the Michelin-Starred Flagship, Michael Mina.

In 2017, Yazmin made the decision to make the move to Oahu, Hawaii and assisted the opening team of our first Hawaiian based restaurant, STRIPSTEAK. 

In October 2018, Yazmin moved back to San Francisco for the opportunity to be part of the serving team at the late Trailblazer Tavern. It was at Trailblazer Tavern, where her interest in leadership turned into an infatuation which led to the promotion of Captain.

When the pandemic hit, Yazmin didn’t stop pushing- she was an integral support member in the operations of Indie Suprette and eventually joined the opening team of Estiatorio Ornos San Francisco as a Captain. During her tenure at Ornos, Yazmin showcased her ambition, work ethic, mentorship with staff and discipline in craft that ultimately made her the obvious choice to take the next step in leadership.
