Jose "JD" Ontiveros
Executive Sous Chef – Outlet Culinary LeadershipChef JD began his culinary career in 2006 at an Italian American restaurant in Austin, Texas. He then moved to Las Vegas in 2010 to work at RM Seafood under Chef Adam Sobel. In 2011, he joined the Mina Group at American Fish in the Aria Resort and Casino, where he honed his skills in seafood and contemporary American cuisine.
In early 2014, Chef Ontiveros transitioned to Classic French cuisine at Comme Ça with Chef David Meyers Group. By 2015, he rejoined the Mina Group to help open Bardot Brasserie, where he spent nearly a decade mastering classic French techniques and advancing to Executive Sous Chef. Bardot Brasserie received several accolades during his tenure, including:
· Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association Best French Restaurant, Concierge Choice Awards
· James Beard Foundation Best New Restaurant Semifinalist
· Dessert Companion Restaurant of the Year
· Recognition by Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, the world’s oldest gastronomic society
In the summer of 2024, Chef Ontiveros continued his role as Executive Sous Chef with the Mina Group at Orla, where he specializes in Mediterranean cuisine and continues to excel in leadership, driven by his passion for food and hospitality
